Peep Show, Creep Show…
Spring is in the air, Easter is just around the corner and the daffodils have started blooming in the yard. Aside from loving to use my vintage um-buh-rella on rainy days, my favorite thing about this time of year has to be the Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest!
The first year “Reservoir Peeps” won my heart. Last year, “Peep Art” made me smile, as did the Olympics and Peepadeus. (Eating that Peep Salieri would be even more satisfying than eating your average Peep, methinks.) The Trojan Peep entry was great and the simple, but brilliant, Woodstock poster was fantastic.
This year’s contest is closed, but look for the results on Easter Sunday.
I also found some flickr sets of Peep shots that predate the WP contest, and lots of fan sites including this one, which has the results of the Peep eating contest. Including who puked. With pictures.
(Edit: how did I forget to link to the official Peep site? Oy!)

Wow, I had never heard of the term “peep” before, and the idea of “peep-contests” is hilarious! People will always compete in ludicrous contests and I always encourage food gorging for trophies! (I recently watched “Stand By Me” again for the 20th time and the pie-eating contest is classic)
