Social Networking, Instant Information, Sychronicity
On a recent Saturday afternoon I posted a quick Twitter about the music I was listening to, which happened to be one of my favorite “local” bands: Bloodcow. I have my tweets set up to sync to my Facebook status. A few minutes later, I got a Facebook message from a talented Minneapolis artist D.Witt about doing a tour poster for Bloodcow and friends who are going down to SXSW! I didn’t even know Bloodcow was on SXSW so I was stoked.
It’s fun and weird how much information is out there, and how quickly seemingly random elements can become connected. It all depends on putting information OUT to get information IN I guess.
In a related and Off-line conversation, I was talking with Dave Robinson (a great tattoo artist from Boston) about art and music and stuff, and gave him my extra copy of Bloodcow’s “Hail Xenu.” This sparked a conversation about his buddy doing the artwork for the Bloodcow/Motherboar split EP. So I come to find out - this is coming out on April 4th! YAY!
